has a huge variety of exotic bird
species, many of them endangered
and desperately in need of conservation.
Good photography of these species
plays an important part in education
through magazine articles, books
and the Internet.
It is a region where
habitat is very much under threat
from human intervention but nevertheless
primary rainforest still exists.
Scattered with literally tens
of thousands of islands, the region‘s
wildlife is certainly diverse.
Almost certainly new species are
to be found there.
